Ian Chisholm
Ian started his career in the safety field when he joined Surety Manufacturing in Edmonton AB. Surety manufactured fall protection, confined space, and high angle rescue systems. When Surety was purchased by MSA, Ian left to sell fall protection and rescue equipment at the distribution level. His interest and knowledge led him to move out of sales and into training. Ian's training experience includes customers such as the Canadian Coast Guard, BC Hydro, Shell, and Imperial Oil.
Ian is also certified to design and install several different manufactures permanent fall protection systems
Ian's background in working at height began many years before his work in the safety field. As a teenager Ian began rock climbing as well as snow and ice climbing and has several first assents to his credit. He also worked with the Canadian Ski Patrol for several years doing first aid, avalanche control as well as ski lift/gondola evacuation and rescue.
Ian's hobbies continue to challenge him. He is an avid skydiver with over 1500 jumps and instructs the sport as well as competes at a national level. Ian and his team have won 4 Silver and 3 Bronze medals at several Canadian National Skydiving Championships. He also enjoys other adventure activities. Ian is a scuba diver with a passion for shipwrecks, and has dived around the world. He is also a licensed Glider and Private Pilot.
