Claude Duret
Claude Duret went to University of Alberta for one year then went on to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police going on to complete 22 years of service. During the last 9 years of his career with the RCMP, Claude was a faculty member of the Canadian Police College in Ottawa and the RCMP Academy in Regina Saskatchewan. After his police career, he pursued other career interests at the time in Saskatchewan.
After 5 years as Director of Security and Safety at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, he came to Red Deer, AB to pursue his Safety Career with Alberta Gold Well Servicing, Bonus Well Servicing, DC Energy Services, and Precision Drilling International, until February of 2004. During this 11 year period Claude was involved as an H2S Alive Instructor, St John's Ambulance First Aid Instructor, PITS Health & Safety Auditor. Claude took an interest in the Fall Protection Field eventually becoming an active member of the PITS Fall Protection Committee as a Service Rig Industry Representative. He was one of the first students of Arresting You Ltd., Rig Work Fall Protection, and Rig Rescue in 1997 & 1998.
Claude was instrumental in establishing field Fall Protection leadership with the companies he worked for.
He has been on staff at Arresting You Ltd., since February 2004, having since obtained industry certification to teach Rig Work Fall Protection, and Rig Work Fall Rescue.
He also is a certified instructor for Confined Space Entry and Rescue, H2S Alive, WHMIS, & TDG.
On a personal note Claude has been a School Board Trustee since 1999, a member and now president of the Red Deer Runner's Club. He is very community oriented, as a volunteer for many sporting events. Claude has travelled to the Middle East, Central America, Mexico, and has plans to pursue more travel to the far east. He is fluent in the French language and is a student of Spanish.
